Zion Crafters Guild

The Zion Crafters Guild, organized in 2018, is a group of men and women from Zion Episcopal Church and the wider Dobbs Ferry community.  We meet on the first and third Saturdays of the month, 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Zion’s Parish Hall.  Our knitters and crocheters come from all walks of life and are of every skill level.
We create prayer shawls/comfort shawls and lap robes for various local hospitals, most notably Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY and The Veteran’s Home in Montrose, NY.  Many of our shawls are given to hospice patients at Phelps as well.
We also send skeins of acrylic yarn to the Parish Knitting Program at The Albion Correctional Facility for Women in Albion, NY, and to The Immaculata Home (a half way home for newly released women) in Lockport, NY.  Both groups create knitted items for local homeless shelters in their communities.
Membership to the Zion Crafters Guild is free and open to everyone, regardless of skill level, and knitting needles, crochet hooks and yarn are available to any who need them.  Many of our crafters work from home and come to the Saturday gatherings only occasionally. Please contact Mother Mary for more information about the Guild.
